In-cluded. Ex-cluded. When a syllable changes destinies.

Episode 2️⃣from 𝐈𝐧-cluded. 𝐄𝐱-cluded. When the syllable changes destinies, our advocacy campaign advocates for social inclusion. On November 14th we already met with 16 NGOs and other representatives with commendable initiatives supporting this endeavor. We have outlined a lot of challenges and opportunities vis-à-vis social inclusion in our area, Sighisoara, and the communes around it, but these challenges and opportunities are certainly happening in other areas of the country as well.

Ideas and opportunities we found: 1. Children are catalysts between their parents and NGOs trying to integrate their families into the community. 2. Hot meal – is a good reason why a large number of people respond affirmatively to social initiatives. 3. Social shops with low prices, and coupons for various discounts, are two other good opportunities to consider. 4 The involvement of the social worker and the openness of the local authorities are also important and irreplaceable.

List of Challenges: 1. It is necessary, of course, to mention the risk of school dropout, but also the phenomenon that shows us that there are children who do not know how to write “9” in the 4th grade. 2. The large number of children from vulnerable communities must be taken into account, each of them in need of care, education, attention, love. 3. The process of social inclusion is a long-term one, and those who start on this path must show a lot of patience and consistency. We don’t give up when we encounter obstacles that initially seem insurmountable. 4. The “maintenance” of poverty is again a sensitive point. Do we help or not? What, how much, how, by whom, to what extent, so that the aid is of real use, fair, sustainable and appreciated by the one who receives it. > > > How are things from your point of view? What is your outlook, regardless of the quality in which you are positioned?
