Foundraising Training Course

On March 9 and 10, 2022, at the headquarters of the Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation in Sighișoara, on Cojocarilor Street, at number 10, ten MET employees and volunteers were trained in a fundraising training course. The course is part of the activity A.8. of the project: “Organizational Development: Advocacy and Fundraising Training”.
One area in which the Foundation’s team does not have sufficient experience is the field of Fundraising – that of fundraising – which is currently limited to writing funding applications and accepting amounts from private donations. In order to diversify the sources of funding for MET projects, it is necessary to understand the stages, fundraising actions and what a fundraising plan contains. This training prepared the MET team for fundraising campaigns or forging strategic partnerships in the near future.

The training activity of the team is complementary to the activity of improving external communication, both activities having a strategic character and a long-term impact.
The courses had 50% theoretical basis and 50% practical basis and were structured over two days of intensive course. We learned about the sources of income of NGOs and the fundraising objectives of an NGO, part of the fundraising strategy. The trainer also focused on methods and tools for fundraising for NGOs, storytelling in fundraising. The members of the team and the volunteers of the Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation found out details about the fundraising campaign. The training had a personalized structure and we worked focused on the needs of our Foundation.
