On July 26, a civically initiative workshop was organized within the „BARN project – Experiential Laboratory for Inclusive Civic Engagement” in the courtyard of house 284. Mircea Felegean, the mayor of Vînători Commune, was also present at the workshop.
The inhabitants of Archita had the opportunity to present to him, one by one, the current challenges of the village life related to water and sewerage, to repair the products or to guard the village, among others. Mr. Felegean encouraged the workshop participants to make all these notifications in writing and to submit them to the City Hall of Vînători. The next workshop we will organize with adults in the village will focus on drafting these complaints, with the help of the project team from our Foundation.
It was a useful afternoon.
During the civic initiative workshops, the project team of the Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation will work intensively to empower the civil society in Archita to get involved in the decision-making process. We want to explain to the inhabitants of Archita village how it works and how they can relate to local public institutions to influence decisions.
Within this activity, local consultation sessions are organized in order to prioritize the actions and to choose a topic for the advocacy campaign that MET will initiate within the organizational development activities.
The project is implemented by Mihai Eminescu Trust Foundation and benefits from a 240.804 euro grant from Active Citizens Fund Romania, programme founded by Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway through the EEA Grants 2014 – 2021, for more information visit www.eeagrants.org.
